The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment are seeking feedback about the Marrakesh Treaty before Friday 26th February 2016, at 5pm.
“The Marrakesh Treaty is an international treaty that aims to increase access to published works for people with a print disability. Its formal name is the Marrakesh Treaty to Facilitate Access to Published Works for Persons Who Are Blind, Visually Impaired or Otherwise Print Disabled.
This Treaty provides for copyright exceptions within national laws to improve visually-impaired people’s access to copyright works in accessible formats (such as braille, audio or large print books).”
This is really exciting and it will be wonderful for BLENNZ students if the Marrakesh Treaty is ratified by New Zealand.
Information about how to make a submission is available at the Have Your Say: Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment webpage.
