The examples used here are based on listening to and using Te Reo Māori with people predominantly from Ngāti Kahungunu ki te Wairoa and Tūhoe.
Te wiki tuarima (week 5/18 August) engari/but
Kau mau te wehi tō korero Māori, engari, āta haere – Awesome talking of Māori but slow it down.
He rangi pai I tēnei ata, engari titiro ki ngā kapua pango tērā – It is a nice day but look at the black cloud over there.
