The focus of the Little Dots group is to provide a place where our ākonga and their whānau can come together to connect with each other and to participate in additional sensory activities. Two themed sessions are provided each school term. In the summer time our themes gave outdoor play; ‘Sand and water’ and ‘Boats and balls’. During our Autumn term our themes encouraged indoor play; ‘Autumn leaves’ and ‘Sound’.
The group is supported by BLENNZ Resource Teachers Vision, our Developmental Orientation and Mobility Specialist and Jillian Applegate, Counselling Practice Lead. Other professionals that support our ākonga and their whānau are also invited to attend. They are Blind Low Vision NZ and the Child Development Service.
