On 13th June, we held an Expanded Core Curriculum Day at the Edgar Centre with a focus on adapted sports. Ākonga from BLENNZ Invercargill joined us for this fun day.
The day began with a couple of icebreakers followed by a discussion about the kinds of challenges the ākonga face at school during PE and fitness times.
The ākonga were then divided into teams for the day and created a team chant.
Representatives from Halberg and Parafed Otago led sessions on Blind Cricket and Goal ball. Points were awarded throughout the day for qualities such as being a good teammate, listening to instructions, helping others and having a good attitude.
