Child Disability Allowance
Child Disability Allowance is a fortnightly payment made to the main carer of a child or young person with a serious disability. It is paid in recognition of the extra care and attention needed for that child. Disability Allowance
Disability Allowance is a weekly payment for people who have regular, ongoing costs because of a disability, such as visits to the doctor or hospital, medicines, extra clothing or travel. Supported Living Payment
Supported Living Payment is assistance for people who have, or are caring for someone with a health condition, injury or disability. For more information on who is eligible and how to apply visit the Supported Living Payment – Work and Income website.
Children’s Spectacle Subsidy
The New Zealand Ministry of Health can help pay for eye tests, glasses and eye patches for children aged 15 years and under who have eyesight problems. This is called the children’s spectacle subsidy. Enable New Zealand manages the children’s spectacle subsidy on behalf of the Ministry of Health.
The children’s spectacle subsidy is a payment to help families with the cost of vision services (as above) for eligible children 15 years of age and under. The subsidy also covers repairs to glasses. For more information visit Children’s Spectacle Subsidy – Enable New Zealand website.
Blind Foundation
The Blind Foundation administers a number of funds that could provide additional financial assistance and support to people who are blind or have low vision. Specific funds:

- Sir Arthur Pearson Memorial Fund
- Henderson Fund

Halberg
Activity Fund
