Students from the Homai Campus School made a positive start to the theme for Term 3 “Living Things” with a visit to RNZFB Guide Dog Services.
Staff and students were met by Colin Christie (Dog Care & Welfare Manager) who welcomed them and showed the students the dogs being trained to avoid obstacles on the driveway.
They were then introduced to a 6 month old puppy from the V litter while Colin explained the importance of socialising as part of the young dog’s training. The students were also shown the sleeping areas for the dogs, where they are groomed and showered. Thank you to Guide Dog Services for a wonderful visit.
