The BELS team organised an immersion course for tamariki with low vision from three to five years. A cooking activity was offered using the process method. This is an interactive step by step activity that the tamariki can do supported by their parent. The process involves large print recipe cards and tactile cards to make the “Cake in a Cup”. Each step follows on from the one before with accessible materials and accessible environment modelled.
This activity was a great success and the photos below show tamariki enjoying the same activity at home with a sibling. Thanks to the parent for sharing this learning.
