DOM and RTV collaborating using the Wise Walker resource

In Palmerston North, RTV and DOM are collaborating to develop a resource that can be used by RTV’s to support DOM programmes in preparation for a learner’s community goals.  Our aim is for our BLENNZ learners to be confident and safe independent travellers.

The Wise Walker is being used as a play based tool to introduce and support the concepts our learners need to build their knowledge and understanding of community environments. Our collaboration has led to the development of resources including prompt cards, customised and mainstream readers that are easy for RTV to use alongside the Wise Walker.  This resource has been designed to be used within the classroom setting as shown in the photos below.
