Momo Challenge

There have been a number of reports in the media recently about an online ‘game’ which is known as the Momo Challenge. Most recently these reports have been focused on the legitimacy of the challenge and whether or not it is a hoax. Regardless of whether this challenge is real or a hoax, there is the potential for children to be exposed to content which is likely to cause distress.

Netsafe has published an advisory post titled Momo Challenge Advisory February 2019 for anyone that comes across content relating to the Momo Challenge or similar ‘challenges’ and advice for parents about exposure to upsetting content.
