The examples used here are based on listening to and using Te Reo Māori with people predominantly from Ngāti Kahungunu ki te Wairoa and Tūhoe.
Te wiki tuawhā (week 4 / 11 August) nau mai (welcome)
Nau mai haere mai ki taku kainga/welcome to my home.
Nau mai haere mai ki tēnei hui/ welcome to this meeting.
Nau mai haere mai ki te kura o Homai/Welcome to Homai.
Nau mai haere ki tēnei awa, engari, kia tūpato I tēnei wāhi/ Welcome to this river but be careful in this place!
